An exercise is a question proposed to the student, who has to provide an answer, be it numerical, textual or graphical.

In an open answer exercise, the user must essentially provide a nummerical answer in one or several blank spaces designed for this purpose.

An open answer exercise may have graphical support, either as part of the question, like in the example, or as clarification of a concept.
