Plugins are the components that integrate both the WIRIS Formula Editor and WIRIS CAS with Web sites. Because there is a diversity of Web sites types, there is a diversity of plugins.

Installing a plugin does not mean that you want to use both the Formula Editor and the WIRIS CAS. Each component can be activated and used independently.

To the WIRIS CAS, which is Web base by nature, the plugin adds additional integration features to the advanced Web sites. For example, WIRIS CAS sessions could be edited and stored directly in the Web site in a single step.

At present, there are the following plugins:

• TinyMCE plugin. Plugin for the TinyMCE HTML editor.
• Xinha plugin. Plugin for the Xinha HTML editor.
• Moodle plugin. Plugin for the Moodle learning management system (LMS).
• Joomla plugin. Plugin for the Joomla content management system (CMS).
• Generic plugin. With little effort it is possible to integrate the WIRIS Editor and CAS to any HTML editor or, even, into plain textarea’s (wikis, blogs, …).

If you are planning to use the WIRIS Formula Editor as a stand alone editor (both Web and Desktop), you must see the raw editor.
