WIRIS Editor is a powerful tool to create mathematical formulas in HTML browsers. The editor is based on Java technology which makes it being supported by any Browser (Explorer, Mozilla,...) on any Operating System (Windows, Linux, Mac).

You will use the formula editor depending on diverse scenarios:

1. If you are a final user, you would have to consult to your Web site administrator to enable the WIRIS Formula Editor.
2. If you are a Web administrator, then a plugin for your Web site must be installed. The options are the following:
1. You use a platform that already has a plugin developed: moodle, dotLRN plugin’s.
2. You use a platform that uses an HTML editor that already has a plugin. Then, it is possible to install the plugin for the HTML editor. See xinha and tinyMCE plugin's.
3. Otherwise, it is always possible to develop a plugin for your special needs: Generic plugin.
